America's Top Dog

Back with a vengeance!! Ok, well at least another post. So since my last post, we have gone to a couple of new places and 1 old favorite. First, last Saturday found us at Miller Union for lunch. Ridiculous! If you haven't been there, go now. Lunch was totally reasonable too, which made it that much better. I had the ham(2 types, smoked and cured) and cheese sandwich. The worst part about this place was trying to figure out what to have. I also had a ginger beer, which would probably be the most refreshing thing you could ever drink on a hot day. Overall, probably my favorite new gourmet restaurant. Saturday dinner found us at one of my favorite old restaurants, and we left there renewed in it's glory. JCT Kitchen is the absolute heat, and if I lived closer to that area, would probably be my go-to spot. But now to the big dinner last night. America's Top Dawg http://americastopdog.net/index.html

ATD is located off of Chamblee Tucker Road in Chamblee. It is tucked away in a strip center, with a couple other food venues and some misc other stores. They boast a choice of 40+ toppings, which are great, but the real deal are their signature dogs. I had the philly wiz dog, hot dog+cheese whiz, not a tough sell. Steph got a Ga Dog, pimento cheese, chili, slaw(Best choice by far). All in all they dogs were nice quality with good toppings and friendly service. The manager also told us they are opening one in Duluth, so all the northerners can enjoy. Hot Dogs are tough to beat, and Atlanta is in desperate need of good dawg. This is not the gourmet sections of the market, but they got grape drank, so they get a nice 4 star rating

H Harper Station

Ready to venture down to Reynoldstown? Yeah, it is definitely out of the way unfortunately, however if you do, I promise it will be worth the trip. H Harper Station is a restaurant located in a renovated train station, which was actually the draw to take my grandfather there given his love of trains. However, it could have been in a renovated garbage dump, and I would still want to go back. The food is great and the drink menu is better. They have a liquor menus that reads like a wine list and some awesome beers on tap as well. I had the Sunday Supper(Only available on Sunday, go figure) but for $15, you got a tray of pickled veggies, a main dish with 3 sides and your choice of dessert. Needless to say, I was full.Check it out, and thank me later

Two Things

1. I have now decided, however other postings are still quite probable, that I will focus my blog on two main areas. Area 1 will be restaurant reviews, nothing fancy, just a recap of my experience. Area 2 will be reviews of different beers, right now I am on an unstoppable HOP train, so I am sure most of the first postings will be various IPA's. Now I must figure out how to put pictures on this thing, so I can illustrate the different beers. Also, nothing fancy on the reviews, just something to let you know if it's worth drinking, cost etc...

2. Having a full time job and trying to blog is tougher than I thought it would be, so, if anyone is interested in paying me to blog, feel free to send cash in small unmarked bills to my home address, and I will be happy to update on an hourly basis if requested...

The Yosh for Dinner Last Night

Sushi Yoshino that it is. While this is not the even close to the first time we have gone there, it is the first time we have since I started my Epic Blog. Conveniently located within walking distance of our house(Which Stephanie will tell you that if I didn't have to I probably would stay within a 2 mile radius at all times), and directly next to some other greats Wing Ranch, Thai Lanna, The Bat and Ball, this place offers some pretty good sushi for the price. Not to mention last night, buy one get one free domestic bottles, which equated to $1.75 Bud Heavys. They have updated their menu from the last time we were there to include a few new rolls, including the Golden Roll which has Gold Frakes(serious about that spelling) on top. Kind of a party trick since they had no taste, but I did feel opulent and kiss my mini Giraffe after I ate them. All in all, I would give it about 3 out of 5, service is great, atmosphere is casual, and the sushi is good.

Panic Back Home

I received an email from ticketmaster last night regarding Panic tickets going on sale Saturday for a Valentines day show at The Fox. What a great gift for each other for Valentines day! However, upon further inspection, I realized that they will be doing  2 shows preceding that in Athens on 2/10 and 2/11. I was fortunate enough to get tickets almost 10 years ago for the first night(dating myself, however I was a Junior in HS, and the fact that I listen to Panic probably dates me a little already) when they played 4/1-4/3 at the Classic Center, and the show was the Heat. Many have probably heard them as they ended up making a great live CD out of it as well. Now, my qualm with The Classic Center is that they do not allow drinks, of any kind, at your seats, and if a lighter is sparked you are almost guaranteed to be removed. That being said, show should be sick, and I highly recommend. If you don't want to trek to Athens, or can't get tickets(in 2000 they sold out in about 2 minutes for all 3 shows), I wouldn't waste your time going to The Fox Show. Why? Because I want to and I don't want you to buy my ticket first, and of course because I will blog about it and you will need to read that. Who says people don't care about others anymore.

New Button

Total Page Views - That is right, I did that. And you can too, if your computer comes with one of those fancy mouse things. Luckily it counts all of the times that I visit my own page, which makes me look, and subsequently feel, more awesome about myself. Any advertisers ready to get on board yet? I am offering space for cheap before I hit 100 views, and if you can tell me how to add an advertisement.
